• Does the Shelly Wave Plug S Black LR need a Z-Wave hub?

  Yes. It is a Z-Wave device with no built-in Wi-Fi and requires a compatible Z-Wave hub or controller (for example, Home Assistant with a Z-Wave stick or SmartThings) to be controlled.
• What maximum load does the plug support?

  The plug switches up to 12 A, which is up to 2500 W for resistive loads, at 230 V and 50 Hz.
• What does the LR (Long Range) version mean?

  LR adds the Z-Wave Long Range mode on 864 MHz, which connects directly to the controller and extends range up to 80 m indoors and up to 1000 m outdoors.
• Does the plug measure energy consumption?

  Yes. The built-in meter shows live power in watts and cumulative energy in kWh, so you can track the consumption of the connected appliance.
• Can the plug be used outdoors?

  No. It carries an IP20 rating and is intended for dry indoor spaces; for outdoor use there is the Wave Outdoor Plug S model.
• What are the device dimensions and plug type?

  The black housing measures 44x44x70 mm and weighs about 60 g, with a CEE 7/7 plug and a Schuko (Type-F) socket.
