• Does it need a separate Zigbee hub?

  Yes. The socket uses Zigbee 3.0 and acts as a network router, but it is not a hub — for app control, scenes and voice you need a separate Tuya Zigbee gateway. Without one the socket stays an ordinary outlet with normal power but no smart features.
• What maximum load does it handle?

  It switches a purely resistive load up to 16 A, i.e. 3500 W at 230 V, on a 95~245 V AC, 50/60 Hz line. For motor or high-inrush appliances (compressors, pumps) leave headroom and do not run it right at the 16 A limit.
• Does it actually measure energy use?

  Yes. The chip measures voltage, current and power in real time, and in the Tuya / Smart Life app you see how many watts the load draws now and how much it has accumulated over time. For a water heater or electric radiator in Moldova that is a real number on the bill.
• How does it differ from the grey ZK-SR-EU-GY?

  By colour only. The white ZK-SR-EU-WH and the grey ZK-SR-EU-GY are the same device with identical specs — 16 A, 3500 W, Zigbee 3.0 with energy metering. White suits the white faceplates and walls typical of Chișinău flats; the choice is purely about looks.
• Does it go over an existing outlet or into the wall?

  Into the wall. It is an in-wall modular socket that replaces the Schuko outlet and mounts in the standard back-box behind it — it is not slipped over an existing socket like an adapter. The white ring stays flush with the wall, and the install is an electrician's job.
• Does it work with Alexa and Google Home?

  Yes, Alexa and Google Assistant voice control is officially supported, but it runs through the Tuya / Smart Life account and the Zigbee gateway — first pair the socket to the gateway, then link the Tuya account to Alexa or Google. Separate Aqara, Hue or IKEA apps do not control it.
• Does it remember its state after a power cut?

  Yes. The socket has power-on memory: after an outage you can set it to come back on, stay off, or return to its last state. Combined with timers and countdown, that helps loads like a fridge that should restart on its own once power returns.
