This scenario is for apartment dwellers — owners and renters alike, whether it's a studio or a multi-room flat. A smart home without renovation: we don't break walls or rewire. We work with wireless devices (Zigbee, Wi‑Fi, Matter) and Shelly relays that fit into the existing back boxes behind your switches and sockets.
Light, climate, leak protection and basic security — all in one app. Optionally we add a compact local Home Assistant hub so the core automations keep running locally, with no monthly subscription.
You can start small — for example with a leak-protection kit — and grow the system gradually, around your budget: adding lighting and climate scenes, access control and a camera.
Typical problems
- Water leaks in the bathroom or kitchen while you're away — and in an apartment block a burst pipe quickly reaches the neighbours below and turns into a costly repair.
- Too many separate apps and remotes: one for the air conditioner, one for the lights, one for the camera — with no single point of control.
- An already-finished or rented apartment where you don't want — or aren't allowed — to break walls and redo the wiring for a smart home.
- Wasteful climate: the air conditioner or heating stays on when nobody is home, and in the evening you come back to a room that is too hot or too cold.
- You leave home unsure: did you turn off the lights, lock the door, switch off the iron? With no easy way to check from your phone.
Key automations
- Automatic water shut-off: at the first leak the sensors detect, the Shelly relay closes the supply and you instantly get a notification on your phone.
- Lighting scenes: 'evening', 'movie', 'away' — lights turn on and off by schedule, by presence or with a single tap.
- Climate scenes: the air conditioner and heating follow a schedule and ease off automatically when you leave, then bring the room back to the temperature you want before you return.
- An 'I'm leaving' scene: one tap turns off the lights, cuts the chosen sockets and lowers the climate — all from a single button.
- Presence simulation while you are away: lights switch on and off in a realistic pattern so the apartment looks lived-in.
- Security alerts: notifications when the door opens, when motion is detected while you are away, or directly from the indoor camera.

FAQ
Does it work in a rented apartment?
Yes. We use wireless devices and relays that install reversibly, without breaking walls; when you move, many components can be removed and taken with you.
Do I need to break walls or redo the wiring?
No. Shelly relays go into the existing back boxes behind your switches, and the sensors are wireless — the installation needs no construction work.
Does the system depend on the internet?
Not for the core functions, if you choose the local Home Assistant hub: the essential automations run locally. Remote access and notifications use the network.
Can we start with a small budget and expand later?
Yes. We recommend starting with leak protection and lighting control, then adding climate, access control and cameras stage by stage, on the same platform.
Can I control the air conditioner I already have?
Yes, if it works with a remote: we add an IR bridge that takes over the remote's commands and brings them into the app and the climate scenes.
