• What exactly does the socket measure?

  The Star Ring reads voltage, current, live power and accumulated energy of the connected appliance in real time, and the app keeps the history. That shows how many kilowatt-hours the boiler, AC or fridge draws and what it actually costs you per month, instead of a guess.
• Does it need a ZigBee hub?

  Yes. The socket is a ZigBee device and needs a separate ZigBee/Tuya gateway, bought separately — it is not a hub itself and cannot take other sub-devices directly. Through the gateway it joins the Tuya/Smart Life app, from where control, scheduling and consumption readings happen.
• What is the maximum load?

  It switches up to 16 A, that is 3500 W at 220 V, on a 95–245 V AC, 50/60 Hz input. The 16 A figure is for a purely resistive load; a boiler or an electric heater stays within limits, while large inductive appliances should be checked against their inrush current.
• Can I schedule on and off?

  Yes. The socket supports schedules, countdowns, repeating cycles, random timing and scenes. Typically you use it to switch off the TV's or router's standby at night and turn the boiler on within the cheaper-tariff window, then watch the saving directly in the consumption data.
• Is it a plug-in socket or wall-mounted?

  It is an in-wall modular socket that mounts in the back-box in place of an ordinary outlet — not a plug-in adapter. So the install (live, neutral, ground) is an electrician's job. This version is grey; a white variant, ZK-SR-EU-WH, also exists.
• Does it work with Alexa and Google?

  Yes, voice control runs through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant once the socket is added via the ZigBee gateway to the Tuya/Smart Life app. You can switch the appliance on or off by voice, while the consumption data stays available in the app.
• Does it strengthen the home ZigBee signal?

  Yes. Being permanently powered, the socket also works as a ZigBee router and relays the mesh, helping battery sensors at the far end of the house stay connected. It is not a hub, though: the network still needs a separate ZigBee coordinator/gateway.
