• Does the Shelly BLU Door/Window need a gateway?

  Yes. As a Bluetooth (BLU) device, the sensor needs a Shelly BLU Gateway or any Shelly Plus, Pro or Gen3/Gen4 device (sensors excluded) with the Bluetooth gateway enabled, to reach the app and the cloud.
• What battery does it use and how long does it last?

  It uses a single 3 V CR2032 battery, included in the box, with a stated life of up to 5 years.
• What does the sensor measure besides opening?

  Besides the open-close state (reed contact), it measures the inclination angle with a G-sensor and the light level with a light sensor.
• What is the Bluetooth range?

  The sensor uses Bluetooth 4.2 in the 2400-2483.5 MHz band, with a range of up to 10 m indoors and up to 30 m outdoors, depending on obstacles.
• Is the sensor visible on the window or door?

  Almost not. The 35x35x7 mm body and 35x12x7 mm magnet hide discreetly in the frame, and the black version suits dark-coloured profiles.
• Does it work outdoors or in cold conditions?

  It is intended for indoor use, with an operating temperature from -20 °C to 40 °C and humidity from 30% to 70% RH.
