• Does the Shelly Wave 1 Mini LR need a Z-Wave hub?

  Yes. The module has no Wi-Fi and does not work on its own: it needs a Z-Wave controller or gateway such as Home Assistant with a Z-Wave 800 stick or SmartThings to be added to a network and controlled.
• What maximum load can it switch?

  The relay switches up to 8 A and 2000 W at 110-240 V AC, enough for lighting, controlled sockets and small motors. An RC snubber is recommended for inductive loads.
• What is Long Range and how far does it reach?

  Long Range is a Z-Wave mode on 864 MHz with a star topology that extends coverage to up to 80 m indoors and up to 1000 m outdoors, well beyond the roughly 40 m of a classic 868.4 MHz mesh network.
• Can I keep my existing wall switch?

  Yes. The module has a switch input (SW) where the existing switch connects, so manual control stays available alongside remote control and scenes.
• Does it need a neutral wire to work?

  Yes. The Shelly Wave 1 Mini LR has separate neutral and line terminals and requires the neutral connected. Wiring to the 230 V mains must be done by a qualified electrician.
• Which smart home systems is it compatible with?

  As a certified Z-Wave device with S2 security and SmartStart, it works with controllers such as Home Assistant (Z-Wave 800 stick), SmartThings, Fibaro Home Center, Homey and Vera.
