• Does the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen4 really work with Matter and Apple Home?

  Yes. The module is Matter-compatible, so it can be added to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings over Matter, without a separate bridge per ecosystem.
• Does it need a neutral wire to install?

  Yes. The relay has N (neutral) and L (live) terminals and requires neutral in the back box. In older wiring where only live reaches the switch, it cannot be installed without bringing neutral in.
• What is the maximum load on the channel?

  Up to 8 A at 240 V~, about 2000 W. For higher loads or motors, choose a relay rated accordingly.
• Can it measure energy consumption?

  Yes, it has power metering (PM) and reports the power and energy of the controlled circuit in the Shelly app and web interface, handy for tracking a water heater or radiator.
• Does it work without internet or cloud?

  Yes. It has an embedded web interface and can be controlled locally over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or through a Zigbee/Matter hub, without mandatory cloud dependence.
• Does it fit behind a regular switch?

  Yes. At 34 x 29 x 16 mm and about 18 g, it installs in standard back boxes behind switches or sockets, keeping the visible fittings in place.
