The Shelly H&T Gen3 in a matte-black case solves a simple task differently from most sensors: the readings are not buried in an app but always visible on a large e-paper display. Temperature and humidity can be read at a glance from a shelf or counter like an ordinary thermometer, while the same data goes out over Wi-Fi to the cloud or a local server.<br><br>The device runs directly over 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi with no separate hub and can publish values via MQTT, so it slots easily into Home Assistant, Google Home scenes, Alexa and SmartThings. Power comes from four AA batteries for roughly a year, or permanently through USB-C. Up to ten webhooks send alerts when temperature or humidity leaves the limits you set.
