Next to the SNZB-02D, the generation gap shows on the glass first: the LCD grows to 3.6 inches and now carries daily highs and lows plus a dedicated line for a second SNZB-02 sensor in another room.<br><br>Connectivity is dual-mode. Proximity pairs the AirGuard TH straight to your phone — eWeLink charts with no hub involved. Zigbee 3.0 through a SONOFF gateway adds comfort-threshold push alerts, 6 months of history with CSV export, dew point, VPD and humidifier scenes. The Sensirion SHT40 holds ±0.2 °C and ±2% RH; two AAA batteries come in the box.

Via a SONOFF gateway, the bedroom AirGuard TH shows the nursery sensor on its second line: the child's climate is checked at a glance, no phone needed.
An SNZB-02 sits in the cellar of a house outside Chișinău while the AirGuard TH in the kitchen displays its temperature; CSV export proves whether the cellar warmed up in summer.
A 40–60% comfort range set in eWeLink sends a push when the air dries out, and a scene starts the humidifier through a smart plug.

How is the AirGuard TH different from the SNZB-02D?
It is the next generation: a 3.6-inch screen instead of the compact one, daily extremes and a second sensor's line on the display, a hub-free Proximity mode, a range extended down to −20 °C, and two AAA cells instead of a CR2450. The trade-off: the magnetic mount is gone — you get a stand and a hanging hole.What is Proximity mode and what are its limits?
The sensor pairs directly with your phone, no gateway: eWeLink shows live readings and history while you are within direct range. Scenes, threshold alerts and the second-sensor line require Zigbee mode with a gateway. The modes are mutually exclusive, and switching factory-resets the device.Which sensors can appear on the screen's second line?
The source can be an SNZB-02, SNZB-02P, SNZB-02D, SNZB-02WD or SNZB-02LD connected to the same SONOFF gateway as the AirGuard TH: ZBBridge-P, ZBBridge-U, NSPanel Pro or iHost. The feature is enabled in eWeLink under Remote T&H Display.Does it work with Home Assistant?
Yes. With a SONOFF dongle (ZBDongle-E/P, Dongle-M and others) the sensor is natively supported in Zigbee2MQTT; for ZHA the manufacturer currently requires an official script — the instructions live in the SONOFF help center on the device page.What does it run on and how do I watch the batteries?
Two 1.5 V AAA (LR03) cells, supplied in the box; the level icon sits permanently on the screen and is mirrored in eWeLink. The manufacturer does not publish a battery-life figure, and Finer Monitoring with per-minute reports shortens it — use that mode sparingly.Can I ask for the readings by voice?
Temperature — via Alexa and Google Home; humidity is voiced by Google Home and SmartThings, while Alexa does not support it. Yandex Alice and IFTTT are marked as 'coming soon' by the manufacturer.Is there a way to get it into Apple Home?
Not directly — it is not a Matter device. The official route is a Matter bridge: the ZBBridge-U gateway or eWeLink CUBE expose its readings to Apple Home as a bridged device.What is the button on the case for?
A single press wakes the sensor or forces a reconnect, a double press toggles °C/°F on the screen and in the app, and holding it for 5 seconds enters pairing mode, active for 180 seconds.
