• Does the Shelly BLU Remote Control ZB use Zigbee or Bluetooth?

  It uses both: Bluetooth 5 LE as a BTHome device and Zigbee 802.15.4 for Zigbee networks, with a range of up to 10 m indoors and 30 m outdoors.
• What batteries does it use and how long do they last?

  It uses two pre-installed 1.5 V AAA batteries with about two years of life depending on use; it is not a CR2032 coin cell.
• How many channels does it have and what can I do with them?

  It has four selectable channels (0-3), each with its own LED, so a single remote can separately command different groups of lights or blinds.
• How does gesture control work?

  It has an integrated accelerometer: hold the arrow button and rotate the remote like a magic wand to adjust the brightness level or blind position.
• Which devices and platforms is it compatible with?

  It pairs with Shelly Gen3, Gen4 and Pro devices, uses the BTHome protocol and works natively with Home Assistant; Shelly Plus devices can act as a Bluetooth gateway.
• Can I use the remote outdoors or in a bathroom?

  The manufacturer publishes no IP rating for this model and recommends use between -20 and 40 °C at 30-70 % humidity, so it is meant for indoor use away from direct rain.
