The DS18B20 temperature sensor is a digital probe with a 1 m cable and a 3.5 mm jack connector, designed as an accessory for The Pill by Shelly controller. The DS18B20 chip runs on the 1-Wire bus and delivers steady readings across -55 ... +125 degrees C, with resolution up to 12 bits (0.0625 degrees C) and a typical accuracy of +-0.5 degrees C in the usual operating band.

The metal probe is 50 mm long and 6 mm in diameter with a stainless steel cover, which suits it for air as well as liquids such as boiler water, aquariums or heating loops. The Pill accepts up to five DS18B20 probes at once through its dedicated 3.5 mm splitter, so one device can watch several points. The connection is plug-and-play, with no screwdriver and no soldering required.
