A snowy week in Chisinau: the heater stops ice from distorting wind readings.
Power switches on the WS90 built-in heater, which melts snow and ice off the ultrasonic sensor.

This kit pairs a DC 12V/1A mains adaptor with a 20-metre silicone cable for the Ecowitt WS90 ultrasonic weather station (and the WS80). The adaptor plugs into 100–240 V mains and, through the extension lead, feeds the sensor array that normally runs on a solar panel and buffer battery.

Its main job is to switch on the WS90 built-in heater: it melts snow and ice off the ultrasonic anemometer so wind speed and direction stay accurate even through overcast winter weeks when sunlight is scarce. The cable is silicone, AWG22 gauge, with a 2-pin connection; the sensor-side lead is 1.5 m long.

Important: the adaptor cannot attach to the sensor array directly, only through the supplied intermediary extension cord.

Mains power stands in for the solar panel when daylight is scarce and the battery cannot recharge.
The 20-metre cable lets you place the sensor on a roof or mast well away from a power outlet.
