Picture the gate at the end of your driveway: you want to open it from your phone on the way home, but you should not touch the gate controller's command voltage. That is exactly where the Shelly 1 Gen3 fits — a Wi-Fi relay with a single dry contact fully isolated from the switched circuit. Because the output is potential-free (16 A at 240 V AC or 10 A at 30 V DC), it switches 230 V lamps, a boiler, a pump, a 12 V doorbell or a gate-controller input equally well.

Gen3 runs on the new ESP-Shelly processor with 8 MB of memory and supports local scenes and scripts, schedules and control through Shelly Smart Control, Google Home, Amazon Alexa or Home Assistant. A separate input lets you keep your existing wall switch wired in: the physical key keeps working while Shelly layers remote control on top. The 42 x 37 x 16 mm body fits inside a back box or on a DIN rail in the panel.

The relay closes the boiler's thermostat input without powering it directly.
A separate input keeps the wall switch working while Shelly adds remote control.
