Why it helps
Movie night shouldn't start with four remotes and three apps. The Cinema scene gathers everything into one press: the living-room lights dim gently, the LED bias light behind the TV comes on softly, the audio system switches to its cinema preset, and the TV moves to the correct HDMI input. All that's left is the film. It's a small automation you feel every evening: no more hunting for the right remote or adjusting the lights by hand each time.
How it works
The Aqara button talks to the central hub over Zigbee, and the hub holds the scene logic. On a single press the hub sends its commands at once: the Zigbee LED dimmer lowers the living-room lights to a comfortable level, the ambient LED strip behind the TV switches on in a warm tone, the audio system loads its cinema preset, and the TV moves to the chosen HDMI input. Commands to the TV and audio travel over IR or the network, depending on the equipment. Everything runs locally, without a constant dependence on the internet, and the scene can be integrated into Home Assistant when you want extra rules.
Setup steps
Pair the Aqara button, the Zigbee LED dimmer and the ambient LED strip with the central hub over Zigbee. Confirm that each device responds reliably before building the scene.
Set the level to which the living-room lights are dimmed, the tone and brightness of the LED strip behind the TV, the cinema audio preset and the correct TV HDMI input. Save it all as a single scene on the hub.
Link a single press of the Aqara button to the Cinema scene. Optionally configure a double press to bring the lights back and return to the normal state when the film ends.
Run the scene in the evening, under real lighting, and adjust the light level, the strip tone and the preset volume until it all feels balanced. Check that the selected HDMI input matches the source you use most often.

FAQ
Yes. The button, dimmer and LED strip communicate over Zigbee with the central hub, and the scene runs locally. An internet connection is still useful for updates or remote control, but it isn't required for the everyday press of the button.
In many cases, yes. Switching the HDMI input and the audio preset can be sent over IR or the network, depending on what your equipment supports. We check the models together and tell you plainly whether the Cinema scene can be built on your current setup or what would need to be added.
Yes. We usually set a single press to start the scene and a double press for a reverse scene that brings the lights back, turns off the strip and restores the normal state. That way a single button covers both the start and the end of movie night.
Not necessarily. The basic scene can run directly on the central hub. Home Assistant becomes useful when you want richer rules — for example conditions tied to the time of day or coordination with other rooms — and we integrate it when it makes sense for you.
Auto morning routine
At 7am blinds rise, coffee maker starts, kitchen warms to 22°C. One Home Assistant scene.
Auto leak shutoff
Bathroom or kitchen leak sensor detects water and closes the main valve via a motorised relay. Before the neighbours notice.
Vacation simulation
On vacation, the home "lives" by itself: lights turn on randomly, blinds move, music plays for a few minutes. Burglars see an occupied apartment.
