• How is it better than a plain PIR sensor?

  A PIR only sees movement: stay still for a couple of minutes and it assumes you left and switches the light off. The ZSS-QY-HP adds an mmWave radar that reads breathing and micro-movements, so it sees you even when completely still — at a desk, on the sofa or in bed — and keeps the light on while you are in the room.
• Does it need a Zigbee hub?

  Yes. This is the Zigbee version of the sensor and it requires a Tuya/Zigbee gateway — for example a Moes ZHUB or any Tuya Zigbee hub. Without such a gateway it will not connect to a phone directly and cannot push presence states into automations. The official Moes page confirms the gateway requirement for the Zigbee variant.
• What range does it cover and can it be adjusted?

  The detection range is 0.3–9 m, adjustable up to 9.5 m, with 6 m as the default. Sensitivity is set across 9 steps (7 by default), the confirmation delay is 0–10 s, and the hold time runs from 0.5 s up to 25 minutes. All of this is set in the Tuya / Smart Life app.
• How is it powered — batteries or mains?

  Mains: AC 100–250 V, with a working current under 70 mA. It uses no batteries, so there is nothing to replace — the install is fixed, on the ceiling. Wiring to 230 V is an electrician's job; this is not a battery sensor you stick up yourself.
• Why does the light come on when nobody is in the room?

  The mmWave radar is very sensitive and can be triggered by fine movement: curtains in a draught, a ceiling fan, a pet, or even strong convection from a radiator. The fix is to lower the sensitivity (1–9) and the radius in the app until it only reacts to people.
• Does it work with Alexa and Google Home?

  Yes, through the Tuya ecosystem. Once the sensor is paired to the Zigbee gateway and appears in the Tuya / Smart Life app, it connects to Alexa and Google Home, as well as SmartThings. That lets you build voice automations and scenes — for example, the light turns on with presence and off after the chosen hold time.
• Where is it best mounted?

  Centrally on the ceiling, to get circular coverage without the blind angle of a wall detector, and away from strong heat sources. For a living room in a three-room flat or a home office the default 6 m radius is usually enough; for larger rooms increase it, and for small spaces reduce it in the app.
