• Why pick the SNZB-06P over a PIR such as the SNZB-03P?

  A PIR only sees moving heat: stop moving and the light drops. The 06P's 5.8 GHz radar reads micro-movements and breathing, so a seated person stays detected. The trade-off: it needs USB power and is more interference-prone. For a walk-through hallway take the PIR; for a study or home cinema — the 06P.
• Does it work on its own, with nothing else?

  No — it is an end Zigbee device: scenes and alerts need a Zigbee 3.0 coordinator. SONOFF confirms the NSPanel Pro, iHost, ZBBridge Pro, ZBDongle-E and 2nd-gen Echo Plus; third-party Zigbee 3.0 gateways work too, though the advanced settings go through SONOFF hubs.
• Why do lights sometimes come on with nobody in the room?

  The radar reacts to any motion: swaying curtains, fans, AC airflow, a robot vacuum or pets all cause false triggers. The maker suggests repointing the unit, lowering sensitivity and extending the hold time; in narrow rooms remember the zone widens via reflections toward 180°.
• How do I adjust sensitivity and hold time in Home Assistant?

  In eWeLink the settings go through SONOFF hubs (ZBBridge Pro, NSPanel Pro, iHost). For a dongle + Home Assistant setup the maker published a dedicated firmware-update and configuration guide for ZHA/Zigbee2MQTT — after it, sensitivity levels and hold time are adjustable there too.
• Does the “only in the dark” condition work outside eWeLink?

  No. The maker states the presence-plus-brightness feature is supported only inside the eWeLink ecosystem. On third-party platforms the sensor reports presence (on some, as a motion sensor), and the brightness logic has to come from other sources.
• What powers it — is there a battery inside?

  Neither a battery nor a rechargeable cell: the radar needs constant 5 V⎓1 A power over USB Type-C; the cable is in the box, the wall adapter is bought separately. The upside — it is always online and acts as a Zigbee router, relaying signal to nearby devices.
• Can I get the presence into Apple Home?

  Only via a Matter bridge: the ZBBridge-U or eWeLink CUBE expose the SNZB-06P to Apple Home as a bridged device. There is no direct pairing — it is a Zigbee device, not Matter.
• The maker shows a bathroom scenario — is it really safe there?

  The “light stays on through the bath” scene is official, but the housing has no IP rating and working humidity tops out at 90% non-condensing. Keep the sensor and its power socket away from spray and the shower zone — by the entrance, radar aimed into the room.
