Frequently asked questions

• Does it really work without a neutral wire?

  Yes — the "LT" suffix in the code marks the no-neutral version: the module is powered from live only and wires in series with the light fittings, so no new neutral has to be pulled through the wall. If a neutral does reach the box and you prefer the classic scheme, the same range also has a with-neutral version. The load is meant for lighting, not heavy inductive loads.
• Do I need a separate Zigbee hub?

  Yes. The no-neutral Zigbee version works as an end-device and does not appear in the phone on its own — it needs a Tuya or MOES Zigbee gateway, bought separately. Through it the module joins the Smart Life / Tuya app. The Matter version of the same range (ZB-104B) connects directly over Wi-Fi with no hub, if that path suits you better.
• How many lights does it run, and can they be controlled separately?

  The module has two channels (the "B" in the code = 2-gang), each up to 10 A, with 10 A per module in total. In the app they appear as two independent entries, so you can turn on the corridor and leave the bathroom off, or put them in different scenes. One module gives smart control to what a two-gang switch does.
• Does it strengthen the Zigbee mesh like a with-neutral relay?

  No. In no-neutral mode the ZM-104B-M-LT is an end-device and does not relay the mesh — it is not a network router/repeater. To thicken the mesh you need a permanently powered router device (a with-neutral relay or a Zigbee plug), while the gateway stays the network coordinator.
• Which external switches does it support?

  The module auto-detects both rocker switches and push-button (momentary) switches, so you can keep the existing key on the wall. It also offers state sync between the physical key and the app, plus multi-control association for when several points need to control the same light.
• Is it a hard install?

  Installation is an electrician's job: the module wires in series inside the box, behind the two-gang switch, on lighting lines only. First check the box depth — the body is 18 mm, but with the terminals and the wires of two lines the free space disappears fast in older buildings. The IP20 housing is for indoor use only, hidden inside the box.
• How does it differ from the Matter ZB-104B version?

  This is the no-neutral Zigbee version and it needs a Tuya/MOES Zigbee gateway; in return it slots easily into Home Assistant through ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT. The Matter version (ZB-104B) connects directly over Wi-Fi with no hub, but it requires a neutral and integrates through Matter. The choice depends on the wiring in your box and the ecosystem you use.
