With the neutral already run into the box during the renovation, a with-neutral relay is the clean choice: the ZBMINIR2 Extreme hides behind the existing switch, switches one lighting circuit up to 10 A and reports straight to a Zigbee 3.0 coordinator. Once paired, commands run locally in the hub — the internet stays out of the control path.

The module is tiny: 39.5 × 33 × 16.8 mm, white PC V0 casing, for standard EU boxes. Its EFR32MG21 radio also routes the mesh, adding up to 64 Zigbee devices. Supply is 100–240 V~, 2400 W at 240 V resistive, with a 10 A MCB or RCBO upstream. Home Assistant runs via ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT; Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings arrive through eWeLink.

What you need on your side and what we deliver.
Three typical automations we set up after the install.
Once paired, the switch, the ZBMINIR2 module and the hub form a local chain: when the internet drops in Chișinău the light still comes on, with no command passing through a cloud.
While the walls are open the electrician brings a neutral into the box and fits the with-neutral version — no compromises and none of the flicker typical of no-neutral modules.
Mains-powered, the module relays packets and extends Zigbee coverage by up to 64 devices — battery sensors in far rooms get a stronger signal.
