• Does the ZBMINIR2 need a neutral in the wall box?

  Yes — this is the with-neutral version: L In, L Out and N land on the terminals, plus S1/S2 for the external switch. In older Chișinău buildings the neutral often never reaches the switch box, so check before buying. If there is none and pulling one is unrealistic, Sonoff makes the no-neutral ZBMINIL2, which runs without a neutral.
• Can I control the module fully locally, without the internet?

  Yes. Once paired with a Zigbee coordinator, switch commands and hub automations run locally — the internet stays out of the control chain. With Home Assistant over ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, scenes execute in the home even when the connection is down. The eWeLink cloud is only needed for voice commands and remote access.
• Which Zigbee hub does it need, and which gateways are ruled out?

  A Zigbee 3.0 compatible gateway. Sonoff recommends the ZBBridge-P, ZBBridge-U, NSPanel Pro and iHost; the ZBDongle-P and ZBDongle-E dongles work too, as do Amazon Echo speakers with a built-in Zigbee hub. Through these the module officially runs in Home Assistant (ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT). Philips Hue and FritzBox gateways are explicitly ruled out by the maker.
• Does it work as a repeater for the Zigbee network?

  Yes. Permanently mains-powered, the module acts as a mesh router and extends coverage by up to 64 Zigbee end devices. In a flat with concrete walls, every ZBMINIR2 you install helps battery sensors in far rooms hold a steadier signal.
• Which wall switches are supported, and how do I change the type?

  Rocker (latching) and push-button (momentary) switches work; rocker is the factory default. Change the type with three short presses of the case button — the green LED blinks three times. The Detach Relay function lifts the key out of the power circuit and turns it into a scene trigger. Neutral and ground must never be wired to S1/S2.
• What electrical protection does the install require?

  The manual requires a 10 A MCB or RCBO upstream of the module, fitted by an electrician. Maximum load is 10 A, i.e. 2400 W at 240 V on a resistive load; with LED bulbs you stay comfortably under that. Pairing with the hub is easiest on the bench: on first power-up the module enters pairing mode by itself.
• What happens to the light after a power outage?

  Whatever you configure in eWeLink or the hub: the power-on state can be on, off, last state or reverse. Inching mode gives pulses from 0.5 s up to almost 24 hours, handy for a gate driver or a pump. On Moldova's uneven grid, last state keeps the lights from all flashing on at once after a night-time outage.
