• How small is it, and will it fit any back-box?

  It is 39.5 × 32 × 18.4 mm and weighs 22 g — Sonoff's smallest Zigbee module, 40% more compact than the ZBMINIL, made for EU/86/120 boxes. Older buildings still have shallow boxes, so measure the clearance behind the key before ordering; under roughly 18 mm free and the fit gets tight.
• Does it really work without a neutral wire?

  Yes — the ZBMINIL2 is the no-neutral version: it wires in series with the light fitting using live and the load line, so no new neutral is needed. If a neutral does reach the box and you prefer the classic scheme, the with-neutral sibling is the ZBMINIR2. Neutral and ground must never be wired to S1/S2.
• Which Zigbee hub does it need?

  As a Zigbee End-Device it needs a coordinator: Sonoff confirms the ZBBridge, ZBBridge-P/U, NSPanel Pro, iHost and ZBDongle-P/E dongles, plus third-party hubs such as Amazon Echo (Plus gen 2/4, Show gen 2) and the SmartThings Hub V3/Aeotec. Through these it officially runs in Home Assistant (ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT). Philips Hue, IKEA and FritzBox are not supported.
• Does it strengthen the Zigbee mesh like a with-neutral relay?

  No. Unlike permanently powered with-neutral modules, the ZBMINIL2 is an End-Device and does not relay the mesh — it is not a network router/repeater. To thicken the mesh you need a router device, such as a with-neutral relay or a mains-powered Zigbee plug.
• Do I need an anti-flicker module for LED bulbs?

  No — and it is actually forbidden. The ZBMINIL2 works with LEDs from 3 W with no anti-flicker module, and wiring one in damages the device. On a single very low-power LED below that threshold flicker is still possible; the fix is a slightly larger load, not an accessory.
• Can I set it up for two-way light control?

  Yes. The S1/S2 terminals support two-way wiring, the staircase-and-long-corridor scheme: one light is controlled from the bottom and the top, with the eWeLink app or the hub as a third point. Switches can be rocker or push-button, and the type is changed with three short presses.
• Can I connect a ceiling or bathroom fan?

  No. The manufacturer explicitly excludes inductive loads, fans included — the module is for lighting. The manual also requires a 6 A MCB or RCBO ahead of the module, and the in-series install inside the box is a job for an electrician.
