• Does it really work without a neutral wire in the box?

  Yes. The MINI-ZB2GS-L is powered through the load: it passes a small current through the lamps to keep its electronics alive without a neutral. The terminals carry the incoming live (L), the L1/L2 outputs to the fixtures and the S1/S2 inputs; there is no neutral terminal. If your box does have a neutral, the standard MINI-ZB2GS is the alternative.
• How is it different from the with-neutral MINI-ZB2GS?

  The power source and stage differ. The with-neutral version has a neutral terminal, 10 A per channel and 16 A total; the L variant draws power through the load with no neutral, at 8 A per channel and 12 A total, plus a 3 W minimum per line. The radio differs too: the MINI-ZB2GS-L uses the EFR32MG22 chip. The rest — Zigbee 3.0, two channels, router role — is shared.
• Why does the 3 W minimum load matter, and what if my bulb is too small?

  To power itself through the load, the module needs a minimum draw on each line — 3 W. A single very low-wattage LED below that threshold can flicker or leave the electronics unstable when the light is off. Fixes: group several fixtures on a channel, use normal-wattage bulbs, or add the ballast load the manufacturer recommends.
• Which Zigbee hub does it need?

  A Zigbee 3.0 compatible gateway. Sonoff recommends the ZBBridge-P, ZBBridge-U, NSPanel Pro and iHost; the ZBDongle-P and ZBDongle-E dongles also work — through them the module runs in Home Assistant with ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT. Once paired, control stays local; the internet is only needed for the eWeLink cloud and voice assistants.
• Does it work with Apple Home, Alexa or Google?

  Not directly over Zigbee. Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT come through the eWeLink cloud once the module is bound to a Sonoff gateway. Apple Home is reachable only via a Matter bridge — for example the ZBBridge-U or eWeLink CUBE. Without a hub and bridge it is simply a Zigbee device that needs a coordinator.
• Which existing switches can I keep, and how do I change the type?

  Inputs S1/S2 accept rocker (latching) and push-button (momentary) switches; rocker is the factory default. Change it with three short presses of the case button until the LED blinks three times. Note: neutral or ground must never be wired to S1/S2 — only the control contact.
• What happens to the lights after a power outage?

  Whatever you set in eWeLink: the power-on state is configurable — on, off, last state or flip — plus a start-up delay. On the Moldovan grid this helps: after a night-time outage the fixtures do not all blaze at once, and the hub's automations carry on as before.
