• What heating type does the GC version switch?

  The GC version (ZHT-SR-GC-WH-MS) is for gas boilers and water systems, with a control contact up to 5 A. For a 16 A electric floor there is the GB variant, and for a water floor the GA variant — both in the same Star Ring series. This card is strictly the 5 A boiler model.
• Does it need a Zigbee hub or gateway?

  Yes. This is the Zigbee version (ZT3L module, 2.405–2.480 GHz), so it needs a Tuya Zigbee gateway, bought separately — without one it cannot be added to the app or controlled remotely. Through the gateway it joins MOES / Smart Life and SmartThings and answers Alexa and Google Home; switching from the ring stays local.
• How does it connect to the gas boiler?

  The thermostat opens and closes the boiler's control circuit through the 5 A relay: below the setpoint it calls for heat, at temperature it switches the boiler off. Some boilers need a volt-free dry contact, others a signal on live — check the boiler manual, because wiring it wrong can damage the board. Installation is an electrician's job.
• Does it work with Apple Home (HomeKit)?

  Not natively. The Zigbee Star Ring model officially integrates with MOES / Smart Life (Tuya), SmartThings, Amazon Alexa and Google Home, but it does not appear as a HomeKit device. If you need Apple Home control, the Matter-over-WiFi variant in the same MOES range (the WHT-S02 / MWHT-S02 family) provides it directly, with no Zigbee gateway.
• How do I schedule heat by day and save energy?

  The weekly program takes up to 48 steps in a single day, so each day can have its own warm hours — warm in the morning and evening, eco while you are at work. The eco mode cuts needless boiler firing, and MOES claims up to 20% savings. Programming is done from the app or on the touch ring, with a child lock.
• Will it still work if the internet goes down?

  Yes, partly. Adjustment from the Star Ring and the weekly schedule keep running locally even without internet, because the thermostat drives the boiler directly. Remote app control and Alexa / Google Home voice need the Zigbee gateway connected to the network, but the heating itself does not depend on the cloud.
• What is the difference from the grey model?

  Colour only. The ZHT-SR-GC-WH-MS is the white version and the ZHT-SR-GC-GY-MS is the grey one — same components, the same 5 A relay for a gas/water boiler, the same Zigbee and the same scheduling. White suits light walls and white frames nearby; grey suits darker finishes. Choose by the room's decor.
