• How does the MINI-ZB2GS-E differ from the hidden Mini Duo module?

  The power stage is the same — two 10 A channels, 16 A combined, Zigbee 3.0 on the EFR32MG21. The form factor differs: the Mini Duo module (45 × 39.4 × 16.8 mm) hides in the back box behind an existing switch, while the -E is a finished 86 × 86 mm switch with a glass front and touch keys that replaces the old rocker outright. Choose the -E when you want a new look on the wall, not just automation.
• Does this version need a neutral wire in the box?

  Yes. The MINI-ZB2GS-E is the with-neutral version: live, neutral and both load lines connect to the terminals. In Chișinău buildings from the 2000s onward a neutral usually reaches the switch box, but check with a tester before buying. If there is no neutral and pulling one is unrealistic, choose the no-neutral MINI-ZB2GS-L-E.
• Which Zigbee hub does it need, and how is it paired?

  A compatible Zigbee 3.0 gateway. Sonoff recommends the ZBBridge-P, ZBBridge-U, NSPanel Pro and iHost; the ZBDongle range also works, and through it the panel runs in Home Assistant (ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT). Pairing is started by pressing the same key ten times in a row (intervals under one second) or holding it for five seconds. Once paired, control stays local; the internet is only needed for the eWeLink cloud and voice assistants.
• Can I keep mechanical switches for two-way control?

  Yes. The S1 and S2 inputs accept external mechanical switches, so you can keep two-way control on a stairwell or at the ends of a long corridor. Only dry contacts go to S1/S2 — neutral and ground never wire there. The light is then controlled both from the glass panel and from the old switch.
• What does Detach Relay Mode do?

  It separates the touch key from the relay: a tap no longer lights the physically wired lamp but becomes a trigger in the hub. In practice one zone of the panel can launch a scene — say an evening mode with warm light and blinds — instead of switching its own line. The mode is enabled in eWeLink and is also available in ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT.
• Can it be mounted in a bathroom or outdoors?

  No. The maker publishes no IP rating for the MINI-ZB2GS-E and lists it as indoor only, at −10…+40 °C and 5–95 % humidity, non-condensing. On a dry bathroom wall away from splashes it can work, but not next to a tub or shower and never outdoors. For wet zones choose a device with a stated IP rating.
• Does it work without internet after installation?

  Yes. Once paired with the Zigbee hub, light switching and local scenes run inside the mesh network without the cloud. The panel also works as a router-repeater, relaying packets for other devices. The internet is only needed for Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands and for remote access through the eWeLink app.
