• Does it work on its own or does it need a hub?

  Not on its own: the SNZB-05P speaks Zigbee 3.0 only. Pair it with an NSPanel Pro, iHost, ZBBridge-P/U, SmartThings Hub V3 or a ZBDongle-E/P running Home Assistant. Philips, IKEA and Fritzbox gateways are officially not supported.
• What happens if the internet goes down?

  Push notifications stop, but a local Zigbee scene still works: the gateway sounds its siren without the cloud. Set the scene up as local on a hub that supports it — NSPanel Pro, iHost or ZBBridge-P/U.
• What water level triggers the alarm?

  From 0.5 mm — when water bridges the two probes under the housing. The concave base funnels even stray drops toward them. Steam or humid air will not set it off: it takes liquid water between the contacts (working humidity 0–100% RH).
• Can I place it on a metal drip tray or heated floor?

  Yes. The probes are raised above the resting plane, so bare metal cannot close the circuit — only water raises the alarm. A heated floor is fine too: the upper limit is +60 °C.
• How do I check the sensor reaches the hub from under the bathtub?

  Place it where it will live and short-press the button: two quick LED blinks mean it is on the network, a single blink means no link — move the hub or add a Zigbee repeater (any mains-powered Sonoff Zigbee device).
• Which battery does it take and how do I replace it?

  A 3 V CR2477 — up to 5 years at 50 triggers a day. The bottom cover twists off; on first start pull out the insulation film. The charge level shows in eWeLink and the low-battery warning arrives in advance.
• Why does the app still show it online after I removed the battery?

  That is normal: to save power the sensor checks in rarely, so the gateway marks it offline only after a while — about an hour with a ZBBridge-P, longer with other hubs. Test it with the button or a wet cloth, not by pulling the battery.
• Can it cover a long zone, say a pipe running along a wall?

  Yes — a WLDC probe cable attaches to the sensor's connector with a magnetic clip: moisture at any point of the braid raises the alarm. Cables chain in series with no length limit; a ready-made kit with a 2 m cable is also available.
