• How is this kit different from the plain SNZB-05P?

  The sensor is the same; you also get the 2 m WLDC200 detection cable (32 g) with three mounting clips — for spots where the housing will not fit or where the watch zone needs to stretch into a line.
• Does the cable sense water only at the tip or along its whole length?

  Along the whole length: the alarm fires when moisture touches any point of the braid, so one line can circle a washing machine or follow an entire skirting board.
• Can the line be longer than two metres?

  Yes — cables daisy-chain in series with no official total length limit, and Sonoff allows a standard Type-C extension lead between two detection cables to bridge a dry stretch.
• Is the cable single-use after a leak?

  No — dry the braid completely and it goes back on duty; while damp it will keep alarming. Sonoff also asks you not to pull or twist the line when routing it.
• What gear do I need to receive the alerts?

  A Zigbee 3.0 coordinator: SONOFF iHost, NSPanel Pro or ZB Bridge-P/-U for eWeLink push alerts; in Home Assistant use a ZBDongle-E/-P via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT. SmartThings Hub V3 is officially supported.
• Will bathroom steam cause false alarms?

  The cable is specified up to 80% RH non-condensing, so a constantly steamy shower can false-trigger it — Sonoff warns about this explicitly. The sensor itself tolerates 0–100% RH; route the cable away from direct steam.
• Will I know about a leak if my internet is down?

  The local part keeps working: a 'leak → gateway siren' scene runs inside the Zigbee network with no cloud. Phone push needs connectivity; since firmware 1.0.2 the sensor re-sends the alarm every 10 minutes while the contacts stay wet.
• Where should the cable go in a typical flat?

  Classic runs: a loop under the washing machine or dishwasher tray, the gap behind a boiler, the floor of the sink cabinet, along an aquarium stand. Keep the sensor body higher up — fixing clips are in the box.
