• Is this an LED-strip controller?

  No. Unlike Gledopto's low-voltage (5–24V) LED-strip controllers, the GL-SD-001 is a mains dimmer: it runs on 100–240V AC and dims an ordinary fitting — a spot, a panel or a dimmable bulb. You do not connect an LED strip to it; for strips there is the GL-C series.
• Does it work with any bulb?

  Only with sources marked dimmable. A non-dimmable LED on this module flickers, buzzes or dims incorrectly. It supports dimmable LED bulbs and drivers, panels, incandescent, high-voltage halogen and low-voltage halogen through an electronic transformer. Bulbs without a dimmable mark are not suitable.
• Do I need a Zigbee hub?

  Yes, for the smart-home functions. The GL-SD-001 is a Zigbee 3.0 Pro device and needs a coordinator for scenes, schedules and phone control: the Tuya Zigbee gateway we stock (id15), a SmartThings hub or a Home Assistant coordinator. As a universal Zigbee 3.0 device it pairs with any Zigbee 3.0 / ZLL gateway. Wall-switch dimming works even without a hub.
• What does trailing-edge mean and why does it matter?

  Trailing-edge cuts the falling edge of the sine wave and is the method recommended for dimmable LED drivers and electronic transformers: smooth transitions, none of the buzz typical of old leading-edge dimmers and far less flicker. For old ferromagnetic (leading-edge) transformers this module is not the right choice.
• How much load does it handle?

  Up to 1.5 A — that is 400 W of halogen or 200 W of LED at 230V. Do not exceed this limit: add up the wattage of every bulb on the line. Larger loads need dedicated modules. The module includes soft on/off and anti-interference protection.
• Where does it get installed?

  Hidden in the back-box behind the light fitting or spot, in series on the live line, with a 2-pin connection. The 48 × 45 × 21 mm IP20 body is for indoor use only and runs at −20 to +60 °C. The in-box install on 230V is a job for an electrician.
• Can I also control the light from the wall switch?

  Yes. The GL-SD-001 accepts a wall switch for manual dimming and a Gledopto 2.4G RF remote, both of which work even without a gateway. Scenes, schedules and app control, however, require a Zigbee 3.0 coordinator paired with the module.
