• How is the MINIR4 different from the MINIR4M?

  The body, the 10 A relay and Detach Relay mode are identical. The MINIR4M adds Matter certification and a direct path to Apple Home; the MINIR4 works through eWeLink — with Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings via the cloud integration — and costs less, which matters when equipping a whole flat.
• What is the eWeLink-Remote gateway and how many devices does it take?

  The MINIR4 accepts up to 8 sub-devices over the local eWeLink-Remote radio signal — S-MATE buttons and R5 scene remotes. They pair directly with the module, no separate hub, and keep working without internet.
• Can I add a switch where no wiring exists?

  Yes: the wireless S-MATE button mounts anywhere — by the bed, at the far end of a hallway — and commands the MINIR4 over eWeLink-Remote. No chiselling walls, no new cable.
• Is a neutral wire mandatory?

  Yes, the module needs both live and neutral at the mounting point. If neutral does not reach the switch, mount the module at the fixture or in the junction box; the no-neutral option is the Zigbee ZBMINIL2.
• Does it work with Home Assistant and voice assistants?

  Yes. The maker officially shows adding it to Home Assistant, and voice control runs through Amazon Alexa and Google Home via eWeLink. LAN control also works locally inside the home network.
• Will eight modules overload a home router?

  Each MINIR4 is a separate 2.4 GHz client with little traffic. Check your router's client limit — budget models cap at 20–30 — and give the modules a dedicated SSID for a large rollout.
• Which functions are free and which need eWeLink Advanced?

  The free eWeLink app covers schedules, timers, scenes, LAN control and Detach Relay. The paid Advanced plan adds the eWeLink Web dashboard and the IFTTT integration — the maker explicitly marks both as part of that plan.
