• Does the MINI-ZBDIM-E need a neutral wire?

  Yes, it is required: the official Sonoff FAQ confirms the Orb-ZBDIM needs a neutral wire in the box. In older Chișinău flats the neutral does not always reach the switch, so check the box before ordering; conductors are 0.75–1.5 mm² copper.
• How is it different from the in-wall MINI-ZBDIM module?

  Mainly in form: the MINI-ZBDIM is a small module hidden behind an existing rocker, whereas the MINI-ZBDIM-E is a full wall dimmer with its own 86×86 mm faceplate that replaces the switch and carries buttons on the front. The "E" edition also lets you choose leading-edge or trailing-edge dimming. The power side — 200 VA LED, 400 W — is close.
• Which Zigbee gateways does it work with?

  The manufacturer lists the ZBBridge-P, ZBBridge-U, NSPanel Pro and iHost, plus the ZBDongle-P, ZBDongle-E and Dongle-M. Without a Zigbee coordinator the dimmer cannot operate — it has no Wi-Fi radio of its own.
• Are ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT in Home Assistant supported?

  Yes, officially: the Sonoff documentation lists Home Assistant integration via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT paired with a Sonoff coordinator. Brightness control and automations stay local, with no eWeLink account required.
• Why does the leading-edge / trailing-edge choice matter?

  Bulb drivers behave differently: most modern LEDs are smoother and flicker-free on trailing-edge, while some transformers need leading-edge. The MINI-ZBDIM-E lets you pick the type, then calibration from the front button sets the low end of the dimming range.
• Which bulbs can I connect and what is incompatible?

  Official limits: dimmable LEDs up to 200 VA, incandescent and halogen up to 400 W, dimmable electronic transformers up to 200 W. Non-dimmable bulbs, fluorescent (CFL) lamps and LED strips are not compatible. The bulb must support dimming — check its packaging.
• Does it extend Zigbee network coverage?

  Yes. Being mains-powered, the MINI-ZBDIM-E works as a mesh router and relays packets for battery sensors and buttons. The manufacturer describes it as a signal repeater — every dimmer you fit shrinks the dead zones in the home.
• Will it appear in Apple Home?

  Not directly: it is a Zigbee device with no Matter of its own, so it will not join Apple Home on its own. The alternative is the Matter bridge in the iHost or NSPanel Pro hubs, which exposes Zigbee devices to Matter platforms; check dimmer support in the gateway's current firmware.
