Frequently asked questions

• What loads can the POWR3 handle?

  Any load up to 25 A / 5500 W at 230 V: an electric boiler, an instant water heater, a compact sauna heater, a pump or a whole socket line. The continuous power must stay under the rating and the wiring must be sized for the current.
• How is the POWR3 different from POW Elite and POW Origin?

  Current: Origin and Elite switch 16 or 20 A, the POWR3 takes 25 A / 5500 W — the most powerful POW. There is no on-body display, readings live in the app; in return the relay is normally closed, which matters for heating.
• What does the normally closed relay mean?

  With no power or a failed module the contacts stay closed, so the load keeps running — a boiler will not stop because the relay died. The power-on state (on/off/previous) is configurable in eWeLink.
• How does the overload protection work?

  You set current, voltage and power thresholds in the app; the module watches them locally, without the cloud, and breaks the circuit when they are exceeded. Power can be restored remotely from the app.
• How long is consumption history kept?

  The app shows daily consumption and tariff-based costs for the past four months, and up to 100 days of data can be exported to CSV from the phone. Values are saved every half hour — a power cut can lose that interval.
• Do I need a hub, and what happens without internet?

  No hub: the POWR3 joins your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi directly. Without internet, control continues over LAN mode on the local network, and the overload protection runs autonomously inside the module anyway.
• Can the POWR3 go into the distribution panel?

  Yes — the back of the case clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail. SONOFF requires wiring it after a circuit breaker, never straight to the grid feed, and the job is for an electrician: the L and N terminals are duplicated for input and output.
• Is it a Matter device? Will it show up in Apple Home?

  No — the POWR3 is an eWeLink Wi-Fi device with no native Matter. It can reach Apple Home only through a software Matter bridge in eWeLink CUBE (for example on an iHost) — an official path, but one that needs separate hardware.
