• Why the Orb-MW2 panel rather than a MINI-2GS module behind the old keys?

  Judge by the state of the mechanics. The module keeps your keys and makes sense while they are sound and you like them. If the switch itself is due for replacement, the 'module + new mechanism + frame' stack stops paying off: the Orb-MW2 covers both lines with one finished device carrying the same electronics.
• How does one round key switch two lines?

  The key is split into two halves — top and bottom; a short press on each turns its own circuit, L1 or L2, on or off. In the apps the channels appear as two separate switches with their own names, scenes and schedules.
• How is this version different from the Zigbee panel Orb-ZBW2?

  Format and load match (10 A per gang, 16 A total); the radio differs: the Orb-MW2 runs on Wi-Fi with native Matter and needs no gateway, while the Orb-ZBW2 is a Zigbee device that requires a coordinator but adds no load to your Wi-Fi. For boxes without a neutral there is a third variant — the Orb-ZBW2L at 8 A per gang.
• What wiring and protection does the installation need?

  Live, neutral and both load lines to the fixtures must meet in the box; the terminals accept 16–14 AWG (≈1.5–2.5 mm²) copper conductors only. The maker requires a 16 A MCB or RCBO ahead of the panel and installation by a qualified electrician. An 86-type box or the European round Ø60 mm box both fit.
• How much load does each half of the key take?

  Up to 10 A per channel, but no more than 16 A resistive in total — you cannot max out both lines at once. With LED fixtures keep current headroom for driver inrush peaks.
• What happens to scenes if the internet goes down?

  Local commands keep flowing on the home network: Matter ecosystems control the panel inside the LAN, and the physical halves of the key always work. Only remote access from outside and cloud-dependent voice assistants become unavailable.
• Why enable Detach Relay on a two-channel panel?

  Whenever smart bulbs sit on at least one of the lines: the mode decouples that half of the key from the relay, the bulbs stay powered and keep taking commands, and a press fires a scene instead. If the network drops, the key automatically regains direct control of the load.
• How do I add the panel to Apple Home — is a Sonoff gateway needed?

  No brand gateway is involved: scan the Matter QR code on the device or in the quick guide. You need the platform's Matter controller — a HomePod or Apple TV; for Google Home a Nest speaker, for Alexa a compatible Echo. In eWeLink the panel joins directly over Wi-Fi.
