• Is the RM433 remote included in the box?

  It depends on the batch: the official D1 manual lists the RM433 as an accessory purchased separately, while ITEAD also sells D1 + RM433R2 kits (base not included). Ask which variant is in stock when ordering at CasaSmart. The wall base for the remote is sold separately in any case.
• How do I pair the RM433 remote with the dimmer?

  The pairing window opens for 5 seconds after the D1 receives power: short-press any button on the remote and the built-in buzzer confirms with a single beep. To clear codes, hold the clearing button for 5 seconds until a double beep. It is easiest to do this before the electrician closes the mounting box.
• Which bulbs can the D1 dim?

  Officially, incandescent bulbs up to 200 W and dimmable LEDs up to 150 W at a 1 A maximum. Non-dimmable LEDs, CFLs and fluorescent lamps are not supported. No minimum load is specified, so test a single low-watt LED first: if it flickers, raise the lower brightness threshold in eWeLink.
• Does it need a neutral wire and where is it installed?

  Yes: terminals N In and L In take the working neutral and live, and the L Out output feeds the fixture. The body fits 86-type, EU and US mounting boxes. There are no terminals for a wall switch — the existing rocker stays permanently on. Wiring is an electrician's job.
• Does the D1 work without internet?

  The RM433 remote talks to the dimmer directly over 433.92 MHz radio — no router or cloud involved. eWeLink offers a LAN mode: app commands travel over the local network while the phone and dimmer share the same Wi-Fi. The cloud is only needed for access from outside the home and for voice assistants.
• Can I connect the D1 to Home Assistant?

  Yes — the manufacturer itself names Home Assistant on the product page: the D1 offers a DIY mode with an open REST API, controlled over the local network without the cloud. The alternative is the official eWeLink integration. The DIY-mode protocol is published on Sonoff's developer portal.
• How is the D1 different from the Sonoff MINI-DIM and Orb-DIM dimmers?

  The D1 is the previous generation: no Matter, no energy monitoring and no wall-switch terminals, but it has the RF remote and a noticeably lower price. The MINI-DIM adds Matter, S1/S2 terminals and auto-calibration, while the Orb-DIM puts buttons on a wall panel. For a bedroom dimmer with a remote, the D1 does the job.
• What automations does the D1 offer in eWeLink?

  Weekday schedules, a countdown timer, sunrise and sunset scenes based on your location, group control of several devices and sharing with family members. You can also set the power-on state, so the dimmer returns to the state you want after a power cut.
