Silicon Labs' EFR32MG24 chip sets the SLZB-06Mg24 apart from the Zigbee-only coordinators in the 06 family: one radio speaks both Zigbee 3.0 and Thread, so a Home Assistant install you run today on Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA can later pick up Matter-over-Thread, without swapping the box.

The coordinator is the bridge between your sensor mesh and your network, not a device that controls a load. Power it over PoE 802.3af on one 100M Ethernet cable or over USB Type-C, while the ESP32 host carries WiFi as a fallback. You switch between USB and LAN mode (Zigbee over IP) from the web UI, no reflash, and the external +5 dB antenna plus +20 dB amplifier push the signal out of the rack to far rooms.

What you need on your side and what we deliver.
Three typical automations we set up after the install.
Stand the network up on Zigbee2MQTT today; when you buy your first Matter-over-Thread sensor, the EFR32MG24 radio can host it — with no coordinator swap.
In LAN mode the coordinator sits in the living room, nearer the centre of the home, and serves Zigbee over IP to the Home Assistant server in another room over a single PoE cable.
The external rotatable +5 dB antenna and the +20 dB amplifier pull the mesh out of the network cabinet into the bedroom and kitchen, where a dongle in the server cannot reach.
