About this product
Many builders want the radio next to the machine actually running Zigbee2MQTT. The SLZB-MR3U answers with USB Type-C: plug it straight into the PC, mini-server or NAS hosting Home Assistant for a local coordinator, with USB-to-TCP/IP passthrough if you also want it on the LAN.<br><br>Unlike the single-chip 06 series, the MR3U carries two radios: the CC2674P10 runs Zigbee 3.0 while the EFR32MG24 runs Thread and Matter-over-Thread, at once, each with +20 dBm and its own SMA antenna. It also has 100M Ethernet (WIZnet W5500) and 802.3af PoE. SLZB-OS firmware, OTA for both radios; the host pairs with Z2M/ZHA and OTBR.

Use cases
On a Chișinău mini-PC or NAS running HA, the MR3U plugs straight into USB Type-C: the coordinator sits next to the processor, with no extra network cable and no dongle hidden behind the router.
The CC2674P10 runs Zigbee 3.0 while the EFR32MG24 runs Thread and Matter-over-Thread at the same time, so Matter devices join with no second coordinator on the desk.
USB Type-C, 100M Ethernet and 802.3af PoE in one box let you move the coordinator from beside the server onto a hallway switch without changing hardware or the integration.

The 'U' marks the upgraded ESP32-S3 host with direct USB Type-C and USB-to-TCP/IP passthrough: you plug it into a PC or server USB port like a dongle, yet can also expose it over the network. Unlike the Ethernet/WiFi-centric versions, the MR3U puts USB first while still keeping 100M Ethernet and PoE.Which radio chips does it have, and which protocols does it cover?
It has two radios: the CC2674P10 from Texas Instruments for Zigbee 3.0 and the EFR32MG24 from Silicon Labs for Thread and Matter-over-Thread, in parallel. The host is an ESP32-S3 with 2.5 MB of RAM. Note: early revisions used the CC2652P10 as the Zigbee chip — check the label if the exact variant matters.What software do I use it with — does it work in Home Assistant?
Yes, it is Home Assistant-first hardware. For Zigbee you run it with Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA, and for Thread and Matter with the OpenThread Border Router (OTBR). The two radios are separate integrations. The SLZB-OS firmware updates both radios over the air from the web UI; no account or cloud is required.Can I power it over PoE and not only USB?

No. The coordinator IS the bridge between the mesh network and your computer — it is not an end-device and needs no separate hub. It only needs a host running the software: a PC, mini-server or NAS with Zigbee2MQTT/ZHA for Zigbee and OTBR for Thread/Matter.On a long USB run or next to the PC case, does the signal suffer?
Over USB the MR3U appears as a serial port — address it via /dev/serial/by-id so the path survives reboots. It has +20 dBm amplifiers and two rotatable external SMA antennas, but keep them clear of the PC's metal case; for longer reaches use a short shielded USB cable or move it onto PoE.How does it compare with the MR4U and the 06-series coordinators?
The MR3U uses the EFR32MG24 for Thread, while the MR4U moves to the newer EFR32MG26 (also Z-Wave-ready).
