Which radio chip is the SLZB-06 built on?

It uses the Texas Instruments CC2652P chip (Cortex-M4F at 48 MHz, 88 KB RAM) plus an ESP32 for networking. That is exactly what sets it apart in the range: the original -06 is Zigbee 3.0-only on the CC2652P. The SLZB-06p7 carries a CC2652P7 with 152 KB RAM, while the SLZB-06M moves to a Silabs EFR32MG21 chip with Thread/Matter.

Does it work with Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA?

Yes, both are officially supported. The SLZB-06 is designed as a Zigbee LAN coordinator for Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA: you add it to Home Assistant as a network device (over IP, in LAN/PoE mode) or via USB, and the firmware of both chips, the CC2652P and the ESP32, can be updated remotely.

Can I power it over PoE?

Yes. The SLZB-06 supports PoE to the IEEE 802.3af standard (15 W), so data and power arrive on a single network cable from the switch — handy for a centrally mounted LAN coordinator. Alternatively it runs on USB Type-C; the two inputs are separated by optoelectronic isolation so they do not interfere with each other.

It is not an end-device and switches no load: it is the bridge between your Zigbee mesh and the host running Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA.<br><br>Three modes make it universal: USB-C next to the server, Ethernet 100M (LAN8720) for a LAN coordinator placed anywhere, plus PoE 802.3af with data and power on one cable. The external SMA antenna rotates on three axes for +5 dB of gain, while an on-board RF amplifier adds +20 dB. Unlike the SLZB-06M, the -06 is Zigbee-only — no Thread or Matter.

For a new HA home the SLZB-06 is the first device you configure: connect it to Z2M or ZHA, then pair your Zigbee bulbs, sensors and TRVs from there.
