• How is it better than an ordinary PIR sensor?

  A PIR only reacts to moving body heat, so it kills the light once you go still. The 24GHz mmWave radar in the eMotion Pro reads true presence across about 5-6 m, so the light stays on while you read, work or game quietly, with no need to wave your arms.
• Does it need a separate LinknLink hub?

  No. The maker states that no separate proprietary hub is required: the eMotion Pro joins your router over Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) and feeds its data straight into Home Assistant through MQTT with 100% local control. There is no extra radio bridge to buy.
• How does it integrate with Home Assistant?

  The eMotion Pro is built local-first for Home Assistant: it speaks MQTT and exposes presence, brightness and IR commands as entities in HA, with no mandatory cloud. The Home Assistant crowd can drop it into their existing automations on their own network and keep the data at home.
• What is the difference between the eMotion Pro and the eMotion Ultra?

  The Pro uses a 24GHz radar and is the balanced workhorse for presence, light and IR commands. The Ultra steps up to 60GHz with finer 3D zone detection and a plug-in temperature/humidity sensor. For an everyday room the Pro is enough; for millimetre zones and climate readings choose the Ultra.
• Can it control the air conditioner or TV?

  Yes. The eMotion Pro has a built-in IR emitter that drives air conditioners, TVs and fans like a universal remote. Paired with the presence radar, you can automatically start the climate when you enter a room and stop it when you leave, all from one device.
• How accurate is the zone detection?

  The zone feature is useful for a rough indication of where someone is, but the maker warns that zone detection may not always be highly precise. Use zones for approximate scenarios; for finer 3D boundaries the right model is the 60GHz eMotion Ultra.
• Where is it mounted and how is it powered?

  The sensor mounts on a ceiling or wall, away from fans, swaying curtains and vibrating appliances, so the mmWave radar avoids false triggers. It is powered from a stable USB adapter. Installation is simple and needs no electrician, as it is a low-voltage plug-and-play device.
