• How small is it and where can I put it?

  It is imou's most compact PT camera, about 95 × 96 × 109 mm and ~200 g — it fits on a shelf, a bedside table or the corner of a desk, with no big wall bracket. It is meant for a nursery or a small room; for a wide living room pick a wider-angle model or corner-mount it.
• How much does it see with pan and tilt?

  The motorised head rotates 0–355° horizontally and tilts from −5° to +50°, so a single spot covers the cot, the door and the window. The fixed 3.6 mm lens gives about an 87° view at each position, plus 8× digital zoom.
• Does it see colour at night or only black and white?

  Both. By default it switches automatically to IR up to 10 m for a lights-off night, and when needed it turns on the built-in spotlight for full colour. You also get two-way audio, a siren and a privacy mode that physically turns the lens away.
• Does it work with Home Assistant or a third-party NVR?

  Yes. The Ranger Mini supports ONVIF and RTSP, so its stream goes into Home Assistant, Synology Surveillance Station, Frigate or any ONVIF-compatible recorder, not just the imou Life app. For voice it works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
• How and where does it record?

  Three ways: to a microSD card up to 512 GB locally in the camera, to the imou Protect cloud on a subscription, or to a local NVR over ONVIF/RTSP. A subscription is not required — the microSD card covers local recording on its own.
• How is it powered and connected to the network?

  Power is USB-C 5 V, under 4.2 W — use the original supply, as a weak charger causes reboots during panning. It connects over Wi-Fi 6 on 2.4 GHz or through the 100 Mb Ethernet port if you prefer a cable.
• Can I use auto-tracking in a child's room?

  Yes. Human detection with smart tracking turns the lens to follow whoever is moving, and detection zones and schedules can be tuned so a swaying curtain does not trigger alerts. A subject leaves the useful range once they pass the 355° arc, so camera placement matters.
