• How does the Ranger 2C Pro differ from the Ranger 2 Pro?

  Both are 5MP/3K indoor pan-tilt cameras with the same 355° coverage, but the 2C Pro is the compact, value-positioned model aimed at the child's room, elderly care and pets; the Ranger 2 Pro has a larger body. The imaging specs (5MP, 3.6 mm lens, 88° view) are essentially identical.
• Does it work with Home Assistant or a third-party NVR over ONVIF?

  Yes. The model is officially listed with ONVIF support on the imou specs page, so it integrates into Home Assistant, Frigate, Synology Surveillance Station or any third-party NVR via ONVIF/RTSP. Enable ONVIF/RTSP in the imou Life app first; for Frigate use the sub-stream, which is lighter than the main 3K feed.
• Does it see in colour at night or only black-and-white?

  It has full-colour night vision thanks to two built-in LED spotlights, alongside classic infrared that reaches 10 m. There are four modes — Smart, Full Color, Infrared and Off — so you choose between a colour image, the discretion of infrared, or an automatic switch based on the room's light level.
• How much can it store, and do I need a cloud subscription?

  It takes a microSD card up to 512 GB for local recording, including the AOR continuous-save mode, with no subscription at all. Optionally, Imou Protect cloud adds remote storage for a fee, useful if you worry a thief takes the camera itself; the card stays the simplest option with no monthly cost.
• Can I talk through the camera, and does it have a siren?

  Yes. It has two-way audio with a microphone and an upgraded larger speaker for a clearer voice, plus one-touch video calling (Call Kit). For deterrence there is a built-in siren, and the privacy mode physically hides the lens when you are at home and do not want recording.
• Does it support Alexa or Google Home?

  For this model imou publishes no official Alexa or Google Home control claim, so we do not guarantee it. The camera is managed from the imou Life app (iOS/Android), and for open ecosystems the reliable path is ONVIF/RTSP into Home Assistant or an NVR. If voice control is essential, confirm with us beforehand.
• Can it be mounted outdoors or in a bathroom?

  No. The Ranger 2C Pro is an indoor camera with no IP rating, rated for -10 to +45 °C, so it is for enclosed spaces only — living room, bedroom, office, kitchen or hallway. For a terrace, yard or a humid bathroom choose an outdoor IP66-rated imou model, such as one from the Cruiser series.
