• How is the Bullet 3 better than an older imou model?

  Bullet 3 is the third generation in the bullet line and brings three steps forward: a 5MP sensor with a 3K (2880×1620) image instead of the smaller earlier resolutions, a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) radio with a dual antenna for a steadier link, and full-colour night vision with a built-in spotlight. The box-shaped body and the install stay just as simple.
• Is it powered over PoE, through the network cable?

  No. The Bullet 3's Ethernet port is 100 Mbps and carries data only — the camera does NOT take power over PoE. Power comes separately, through the DC 12V/1A adapter in the box (under 12 W draw), so when mounting, plan a 12V source up to your chosen point. The network cable is only needed if you want a wired link instead of Wi-Fi.
• How does it see at night — does it really give colour?

  Yes. It has four night modes: Smart, Full-colour, Infrared and Off. On infrared it sees up to 30 m in black-and-white, and for colour the built-in spotlight lights the scene for a true full-colour image. In Smart mode the light comes on only when the AI detects a person or a vehicle, so you do not keep the spotlight on all night.
• Can I mount it straight outside, exposed to rain?

  Yes. Unlike imou cameras with no IP rating, the Bullet 3 has an IP67 body and a -30 to +50 °C working range, so it mounts straight out under the open sky — on a façade, at the gate or on a pole — and handles both the winter frost and the summer Moldovan sun. A waterproof cable connector is included in the box.
• Does it work with an NVR, Home Assistant or Frigate?

  Yes. The official datasheet confirms ONVIF, so the camera is not locked to the imou app: connect it to a Synology or Dahua NVR, or add it to Home Assistant, Frigate or Synology Surveillance Station over ONVIF/RTSP. To do so, enable the ONVIF/RTSP stream in the imou app before integrating.
• Which lens should I pick — 2.8 mm or 3.6 mm?

  The Bullet 3 has a fixed lens with no optical zoom, in two variants. The 2.8 mm gives a wide field (H94°/V52°/D111°), good for a small yard or the area in front of the door. The 3.6 mm narrows the field (H78°/V41°/D94°) but holds detail better at a distance, for a longer drive or a farther gate. Choose the variant up front, as it cannot be changed after mounting.
• How much storage does it support?

  It records locally to a microSD card up to 512 GB (per the official datasheet — marketing copy sometimes lists 256 GB, the older figure). On top of that you can use an NVR over ONVIF or Imou Protect cloud storage by subscription. For continuous recording we recommend a high-capacity card and an event schedule.
