• Does it need a separate hub?

  Yes. The SWV-BSP is a Zigbee 3.0 device with no gateway of its own and needs a coordinator: NSPanel Pro, iHost, ZBBridge-P/-U or a ZBDongle-E/-P USB stick.
• Can it shut the water off automatically on a leak?

  Yes — in an eWeLink scene link a leak sensor to the valve, and on an alarm the hub tells the SWV-BSP to cut the supply.
• What is the difference between the BSP and NH versions?

  The thread. BSP is G3/4-14" (British Standard Pipe) for European taps; NH is NH3/4-11.5 for the North-American thread. This listing is the BSP version.
• How does volume-based watering work?

  The built-in flow meter measures flow in the 2–3.9 L/min range, so in the app you can set "pour X litres" instead of "water for X minutes".
• Can it stay outdoors in the rain?

  Yes, the PC+ABS body is rated IP55 (dust and water-jet protected). Allowed water temperature is 5–40 °C and device range 5–60 °C — keep it from freezing in winter.
• How long do the batteries last and which type is needed?

  Four AA batteries, lasting up to 20 months with one hour of daily watering. We recommend alkaline AA; 1.2 V rechargeables sag below voltage sooner.
• Does it work locally with Home Assistant?

  Yes, the valve joins Home Assistant via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT on your Zigbee coordinator, with no cloud; via eWeLink it also works with Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Alice.
