• Why does it have two lenses and what does each do?

  The Cruiser Dual 2 Pro has two 4MP cameras in one body: a fixed 3.6 mm lens that holds the whole yard as an overview, and a motorized lens that pans 0–355° and tilts 0–90° to close in on the detail. Together they give almost 360° coverage, and the combined image is 8MP.
• How does it film in colour at night, not black-and-white?

  It uses imou AURORA low-light technology plus four illuminators — two LED spotlights and two infrared. The spotlight switches on with motion and keeps the colour; when there is no light at all the camera falls back to infrared up to 30 m, so the path and gate stay visible all night.
• Does it work with Home Assistant or a third-party NVR?

  Yes. The camera exposes ONVIF and RTSP on both lenses, so it ties into a Synology NVR, Frigate or Blue Iris and into Home Assistant. In the imou Life app you must turn off the TLS/encryption toggle for the RTSP stream to be accepted; otherwise the third-party system will not connect.
• Does it have a battery or solar panel, or how is it powered?

  It has no battery and no solar panel — it is a permanently powered camera at 12V DC, under 12 W draw. So you need a socket or a protected supply along the pole run; in a power cut it loses the image, unlike the battery models in the imou range.
• How far and at what resolution does it actually capture?

  Each lens has a 1/2.9″ CMOS sensor at 4MP, i.e. 2560×1440 — enough for faces at the gate and plates a few metres out. The 3.6 mm lenses give a wide field (~80°), good for a yard, rather than an optical zoom over long distances.
• Does it tell people from animals and branches?

  Yes. The AIgo Play platform does human and vehicle detection, plus line-crossing and intrusion detection, so you are not pinged for every cat or wind-blown branch. On a real event the built-in siren and the red/blue light activate, and through the microphone and speaker you talk to whoever is in the yard.
• Where are the recordings stored?

  Locally on a microSD card up to 512 GB in the camera itself, plus imou Cloud as a subscription backup. For the technical crowd the ONVIF/RTSP stream can also be recorded to your own NVR (Synology, Frigate). The card is not included — choose it by how many days of history you want to keep.
