• Does it really work with no power cable at all?

  Yes. AOV PT 5MP has a 10000 mAh internal battery, and the 5W solar panel recharges it from daylight — the maker quotes about two hours of sun a day for up to 100 events daily. Mount it on a fence, a post or by the gate, anywhere a socket will not reach, with no electrician. On cloudy days you can also top it up by hand over DC 5V/2A.
• Is the 5W solar panel included in the box?

  No. Per the imou datasheet the 5W panel is sold separately; the box holds the camera, a 1 m power cable, the mounting bracket, stickers and wall anchors. We recommend ordering the panel together with the camera and aiming it south with no shade so the battery stays charged all year.
• Can I integrate it into Home Assistant over ONVIF or RTSP?

  Not on this model. Unlike the mains-powered Cruiser cameras, the battery AOV PT 5MP does NOT expose ONVIF or RTSP, so it cannot connect to a third-party NVR, Synology, Frigate or a native Home Assistant stream. All control and viewing run through the imou Life app. If you need ONVIF/RTSP, choose a mains-powered Cruiser model.
• How does it record — to a card or to the cloud?

  To a microSD card, up to 512 GB, fitted inside the camera. Cloud storage is NOT supported on this model, so fit a card large enough for the period you want. With AOV technology the camera saves time-lapses at scheduled intervals plus a full clip on every alarm, saving both space and battery.
• Will it work where I have no home internet?

  Yes. AOV PT 5MP has dual connectivity: 4G LTE on European bands (FDD B1/3/5/7/8/20/28, TDD B38/40/41) for places with no Wi-Fi, plus 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi where the home network reaches. On a post at the back of the yard you fit a SIM and the camera streams to imou Life over 4G; do check your operator's coverage in the area first.
• How does the battery cope in winter, at -20°C?

  The body is IP66 and runs from -20°C to +50°C, but cold batteries drain faster and short winter days give the panel less sun. The maker rates battery charging only between -10°C and +45°C. In practice, mount the camera so you can easily take it down for an occasional DC 5V/2A top-up during the gloomy months.
• Which ecosystems and voice assistants does it work with?

  The camera is managed from the imou Life app (iOS and Android), and the live view can be brought into Amazon Alexa and Google Home via the imou skill/action. Note it is not compatible with Apple Home and does not expose ONVIF/RTSP, so integration with a third-party NVR or native Home Assistant is not possible on this model.
