KNX is an open international standard for building automation: a wired, decentralized bus where every button, sensor and actuator talks over one shared line with no single point of failure. At CasaSmart we design and commission KNX systems for houses, apartments in new developments, offices and commercial spaces where long-term reliability matters more than the speed of a wireless retrofit. Unlike wireless solutions (Zigbee, Wi-Fi), which we use when a home is already finished, KNX is laid in during construction or a major renovation, while the wiring is still accessible.
Through KNX we control lighting circuits and dimming (including DALI), blinds, roller shutters and curtains, heating and cooling zones, underfloor heating, ventilation and heat recovery, presence scenes and energy metering. Control runs through glass touch panels, clean push-button switches and room thermostats, all programmed in ETS, the official KNX software, to a topology designed for your specific project.
For modern visualization we bridge the KNX bus to Home Assistant: clear dashboards, remote access, voice control and integration of non-KNX devices such as cameras, intercoms and Wi-Fi Shelly modules. The building's core functions stay local on the bus and keep working even if the server or internet goes down.
We work in coordination with the electricians and the site team, supply certified KNX components, document the installation and hand the project over with an as-built diagram and training. Coverage across Chișinău and nationwide.

A free conversation about the building, the project stage and what you want to automate. We decide whether wired KNX is the right fit or whether a hybrid with wireless makes more sense.
We define the bus topology, the list of circuits and components and the cabling scheme in ETS, coordinated with the electrical and architectural plans.
Together with the electricians we lay the bus and mount the actuators in the panel, the sensors and the touch panels, while the walls are open.
We program the devices in ETS, set up the scenes and connect the bridge to Home Assistant for visualization and remote access.
We hand over the installation with as-built documentation, train you on how to use it and stay available for adjustments and expansions.
KNX is wired and laid in during construction or a major renovation — the choice for new houses and buildings where long-term reliability matters. Wireless (Zigbee, Wi-Fi) suits homes that are already finished. We often combine the two: KNX for the core, wireless for add-ons.
Usually it is not cost-effective, since KNX requires new wiring in the walls. For a finished home we recommend a wireless solution with Home Assistant. KNX makes sense if you are doing a major renovation that opens the walls anyway.
Yes. KNX logic runs locally on the bus, so lighting, blinds, heating and core scenes keep working even without internet or a server. Internet is only needed for remote access and voice control through Home Assistant.
Yes. We connect KNX to Home Assistant, giving you dashboards on your phone, remote access and voice control. At the same time we integrate non-KNX devices such as cameras or Wi-Fi Shelly modules into one interface.
